Spring Cleaning

Ok, not really. I have hardly the energy to get dressed most days, but today the kids were at MDO and I had finished our taxes, so I gave myself a little boost and said, "Self, just do it! Clean up your scrap space. It'll make you feel better, even if the rest of the house is in shambles."

I know it sounds weird to some of you, but having a little clean spot in the house was like a treat for me, and I try to treat myself a little on the days that the kids are at MDO.

Anyways, because it's fun, here's my before and after pics:

P.S. I hate even posting this on here, just out of respect for people's privacy, but please keep everyone who is having layoffs in your prayers. I had someone close to me get laid off today and it is weighing heavily on my mind and heart. I know a lot of people are going through hard times right now- please, keep each other close in prayer and in encouragement.

  1. Your space looks great! I love the wall color. During the next MDO you can come treat my room! :D

I completely feel you on the economy forefront and am praying it begins to turn around quickly.

  2. WOW! We are on the same wave today!! I was gonna post before and afters of what was once my formal dining room, but now scrap/ dining room. Somewhat embarressed though. Its REALLY bad, gonna suck it up and do it though. You have inspired me. It IS a treat to "spiff" up. Also, really been worrying about the economy stuff. my husbands job field can be very iffy. Will keep that on my mind and in my prayers! Thanks for letting me ramble, in that kind of mood tonight.

  7. I love before and afters. If I have to clean up a big mess, i always take a before, i guess it is the scrapbooker in me. love your scrap area!

and yes to the prayers for those who are out of work right now. it is really bad around here (middle ga). my husband was released from his job in Nov, and it has been rough, and their just arn't jobs out there. then everyday you hear of another company laying off more people, and more and more of the small business owners are going out of business. it is sad!

so pray for all those w/o work, and buy local. :)

  8. Well, you're on your way to a designer room! Good for you... I love getting things organized even if it only lasts for a few minutes:)

You asked me how old my kiddos are. are you ready? 12, 10, 8, 6, 3, 1 WHEW! There are some definite advantages to having those older kiddos but there are plenty of age appropriate things to have your kids do.

I have a list somewhere and if you email me I'll try to write down a few things that your age kiddos can do. My email address is PrettyOrganized at gmail dot com.
    So glad you stopped by!
