Dear Tim Holtz....

What did I do before your tissue tape???!

XOXO,
your friend who is addicted to using it on all projects now.

****

Since it's October, I figured I needed to get on the ball about finishing up our "first day of school" photos of the kiddos. (And um, I still haven't taken Atticus' pictures yet. Guess I need to do that, huh?!)

I pulled out Sabby's pics the other day and some Tim Holtz Idea-ology products, and made this layout.

(Supplies used: Tim Holtz "Lost & Found" papers, Tim Holtz Elements Grungboard, Tim Holtz "Traveler" tissue tape, Tim Holtz "Symphony" tissue tape, Tim Holtz Alpha Grungeboard, Tim Holtz Distress Stickles- Chipped Sapphire, Tim Holtz Ruffled Ribbon, Tim Holtz Mini Mask.)
Looking for a simple way to add just a touch of color to a layout? Don't forget your colored pencils! They added just the right child-like flavor to this layout. A friend of mine at church brought me this wonderful bird wall art that she found on clearance at TJ Maxx. She asked me to "do my thing" on it and make the background prettier.

(Sorry for the crappy before shot!)
I covered it in vintage sheet music from an old hymnal, and then painted over that with white acrylic paint.

I added hints of gray acrylic paint, along with some splatters of mist. I used some of the awesome Tim Holtz Symphony tape to create an abstract "branch" of sorts, along with wrapping the edges of the piece. It always makes me really nervous to make something "on commission" (and I use that term very, very loosely!) for a friend because I'm not sure exactly what they are envisioning. :) I hope she enjoys it!
