A mini makeover

My husband will probably tell you that he comes home way too many times to me having added some new decorations or moving something around or whatnot.

I think part of it has to do with the fact that I'm in this same environment a LOT, so I change it up after a while. I think some of it has to do with the fact that I try to make do with what we have, since we haven't seemed to have won our millions in the lottery yet. And some of it has to do with the fact that I'm a quirky girl and I like to mess with stuff.

Our playroom, which I rearranged again recently to fit our summer play needs, felt a little off-balance. I really needed a shelf or something on one wall, but I really didn't need to spend the money.

So I dragged in our old changing table (which was serving as a "side board" on our screened in front porch), painted her, added a piece of vinyl cut from my Silhouette, and now I have a lovely little shelf, perfect for our playroom!

(Clipboards hold the kiddos' recent artwork, there are two more that you can't see in the pic. The painting on the top right is by my uber talented brother. The framed record on the left is an original Beatles Sgt. Pepper album, still in the cellophane- from my dad. )

(I used Glidden Pool Side paint, and then added some regular ol' craft acrylic paint on top in a green and white. I diluted that paint a little with some water. I also sanded it in a few areas.)

  3. This turned out so cute! What a great way to use that old changing table. I still have ours in my youngest daughter's room but now instead of using it to change her we have toys and blankets and misc. things on it. Fabulous paint colors, too.
