The Ol' Room Switcheroo

I believe I may have mentioned a time or two on here that I have an affinity for rearranging things in my house. And I think it probably drives my poor husband a little batty... but he puts up with me well. ;)

I'd been pitching him an idea every so often that I would like to switch out the dining room to the play room, and vice versa. Our house is old, the layout is kind of funky, and to be quite honest, we hardly ever eat dinner together as a family because there was something not quite right about our dining room.

I could never put my finger on it, but as silly as it sounds, I would say that the feng shui seemed wrong in there. Even when friends would come over, they typically avoid that room.

So last night, the hubs agreed with my wacky plan. I didn't wait long to put my plan to action, and tonight I can happily say that I'm SO GLAD I did this! Even though the rooms aren't conventionally planned for how they are functioning, they are both off of the kitchen so it works just fine for us.

So the moral of this story? Don't be afraid to take a little risk in your house, even if it doesn't seem like it's how it's "supposed" to be! :)
