So during December, I saw this cute little tutorial over on Grace Violet on how to "Anthropologize" some mittens.
And she had this scarf one linked up there too.
I've had both of those ideas rolling around in my head for a while, waiting for a chance to try them out. I bought the super-cute/cheap mittens at Target to embellish, and I have a scarf that might work... but I haven't tried them yet. Definitely soon, though.
However, those ideas sparked an idea after I bought this $10 humongous tote bag from Walmart the other day (they have them in all sorts of great colors too: cherry red, black, burnt orange, blueberry blue, and some others).
Hmmmm. I thought. What a great canvas for decorating.
I know it's not for everyone, but I love the junky/random feel to the bag. It's fun, it makes me happy, and it's big enough for me to throw Sabriel into it.
Or maybe just a few books, instead.

super cute bag - but really what else does one expect from the super cute V? :) i was just given a canvas tote bag at a presentation for school stuff and it's got the companies logo on it, which isn't that cute - i may do a little V make over on it!!
ReplyDeletethis is fantastic! You're so creative!
ReplyDeleteThe purse is really cute! I still have the purple little hand bag you made me a few years ago. Although Hannah has taken it over.
ReplyDeleteAnd you crack me up! Now we know where Em gets her purse of randomness. Don't be surprised when Sabriel ends up in one of her bags!! Or has she tried that one already? LOL
Uh hello....totally loving that!
