Ok, so now that I have a little more blogging time, I wanted to go back and answer some of your questions:

{Nat asked:}
who is your favorite 'celebrity' scrapbooker. or your favorite place to go for scrap inspiration.

Oh this is a hard one for me to answer, since I have so many! I would say my very tippy top favorites are Jenni Bowlin, Kerry Lynn Yeary, Keisha Campbell, Melissa Phillips, Mara May, Stephanie Howell, Allison Kimball... ohhh there really are a lot. That's just the tip of the iceberg. I unfortunately spend way too much time browsing blogs... I have about 85 in my "scrap artists" category in google reader alone.

One of my favorite places to get scrappy inspiration is the gallery on SiStv
. I would be remiss in also not mentioning etsy, or
some
of
my
very
talented
friends.

where do you buy your clothes? you always look so trendy in your pictures...

Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahah. I love that. Thank you very much. That is a much needed compliment for this mommy, let me tell you. I'm currently sitting her in my knit shorts (the kind that come down to my knees for comfort's sake), a big ol' t-shirt, and a towel on my head from taking a shower. The "trendy" pics you see of me are because I've worked extra hard that day. ;) Sad to say, I'm not as trendy as I'd like to be on a day to day basis.

I usually shop at just the same ol' places everyone shops... I'm on a strict budget, and since most of my $$ goes to scrap stuff, I look for things that will add a punch to my wardrobe. I'm a big fan of Stacy & Clinton's, so I listen to a lot of their advice, like buying one or two accessories that are super trendy, and pairing it with my classics from my wardrobe.

I'm also a big believer in color... you can buy inexpensive layering shirts (LOVE doing a cami or tank underneath a t-shirt) in colors that are on trend, and look totally fashionable for not a lot of money. Pair it with a great fitting pair of jeans (Khols has some that are made for the ever-unfortunate "mommy belly") and some cute jewelry (did you know that Claire's often has a 10 for $10 sale- 10 pieces of jewelry for $10!!) and you're all set!

Can you tell I love clothes? LoL

Favorite hobby besides scrapbooking?

I wish I could say reading, which is really one thing that I love to do, but since I've had babies, I find it extremely difficult to sit and concentrate on a book for a really long time, even when I do have free time. My mind is always going. (The exception to this rule is, of course, Harry Potter or Twilight!).

I think the other favorite hobby would have to be organizing & decorating my home. I get a lot of satisfaction out of that. :)

Last one, how much sleep do you get on a typical night? I have a 2yo - and i honestly have no idea how on earth you manage your 3!!! YOU ARE AWESOME!

Hee- well, thank you, and if you had a conversation with me in real life, you'd probably get the answer right away by the severe lack of memory or sense that any of my thoughts make. ;) I've learned very quickly how to function on little sleep... I'm a night owl by nature, so once the kids are in bed at 7pm (we have a strict bedtime by necessity!), that's "my" time. I usually don't use it to catch up on housework or anything like that, since I try to get that done during the day or naptime, so that's when I usually scrap & watch tv.

I try to get into bed by 11, but if I'm really in the groove, I can be up as late as 1am! It's bad, and I pay for it the next day... but oh how I love those quiet hours of the night to create. :)

And to answer your question, the kids *usually* sleep until 7am, so if I get to bed by 11, that's a fair night's sleep. That is, barring no one has an accident or a nightmare or has a cold or needs a drink......

I'll be back with more answers & the things I know you're really interested in (ie layouts and such!) tomorrow!

  1. Love the blogs - a few of them are actually new to me (and I have 100's of scrapblogs in my bloglines).

One of my favorites is Christine Middleton - here:http://retrospection.typepad.com/my_weblog/

    And Karen Russell - http://karenrussell.typepad.com/

And I really need to start wearing jewelry again. that is something that I stopped doing after my son was born (he is almost 2) - that would be a great way to spice up my clothes!

And you get your kiddos to bed at 7pm! Wow. I've been trying to 'bump' up Peyton's bed time, every few nights it is 15min earlier. it has been going well so far - and we leave the house by 6:30 AM for work/nursery, so he should be able to go to bed much earlier than 8:30. I'm trying so maybe I can get more me time (and sleep time too)! Sounds like you have a great schedule figured out...

  6. you are my hero V!!! i'm lucky to get bryce in bed by 9:00 and once I do, I'm so tired that if dh is working, I go to bed too. If dh is home, I try to stay up at least until 11:00 with him and then I'm done! I *need* my sleep :)

  7. Virginia, you crack me up :D I absolutely love your blog and have been reading it for several months now. I am just getting into the whole posting thing and becoming more comfortable doing that. The scrapbooking community has so many great people including many of your friends, whose blogs I visit also.

I wish I could get my kiddos to go to sleep before 9:00. I too work better at night but with working full time during the week, not much gets accomplished. Maybe one day I can be home with the kids.
