Lily Bee Contest Mini Album- Fearfully & Wonderfully Made *Me*

Lily Bee Designs is having a contest, and your submission had to be a mini-album with the theme "Just Be Me." I decided last minute that I would order the papers online and put an album together... last Friday, I ordered the beautiful French Couture line (from BlackberryPaper.com- they had really fast service!) and put together my album this week!

I really struggled with the theme, because I tend to shy away from the "About Me" type albums. I already have a couple like that, and how many does one person need?

As I do a lot of times when I have a journaling block, I sat down, looked through some pictures, and just started typing. My ideas finally came together, and this was the result:

"Fearfully and Wonderfully Made *Me*"

The album is a Heidi Swapp mirror album I've had for a really long time. I thought that the reflective surface went along well with my reflective theme!

You can click on each picture to read the journaling. I will probably post some of the journaling here in the near future, as well.

Each page focuses on a "piece of me" and how I am unique in certain ways.

These two pages are about how visual I am, and how I need to always be busy with my hands.
This page is about my optimistic attitude, and the true hope & joy I have found.

These pages are about my hubs, who is a true piece of me, and how motherhood has affected my body, heart, and mind.
These pages are about my heart/emotions, and my feet & journey. I had quite a lot to say about my emotions, so I ended up doing some hidden journaling! :)
My final page "captures" (har har) the whole theme of the album. The ribbon is slightly covering my journaling in this photo, but it doesn't do that in real life!
I am not just saying this because I'm entering this contest: I am absolutely in love with Lily Bee Designs! I will definitely be ordering more of their papers in the future. They have the perfect balance of bright colors with a design sense that goes well with my vintage/shabby chic style.

Their papers & die cuts went perfectly with all my favorite "go-to's" of scrapping embellies: Jenni Bowlin Studios, K&Co. chipboard & gems, Stampin' Up ribbons & punches (thanks again, Haley!), American Crafts Thickers, Sassafrass Buttons, and Hambly & October Afternoon rub ons.

Thanks for looking! This has truly become a work of my heart and an album that I am so glad I created.

  8. Wow! Well said. Your journaling is just perfect....you did such a wonderful job of "Being the Moon" as John Piper says and reflecting Christ in all you said. I was hoping my album would have more of that feeling but I didn't preplan it and it took on a life of its own!

Your pictures are beautiful and your children are going to treasure them forever!!!

Also LOVE LOVE LOVE all your tiny details...they're what make your work so amazing!

  9. WOW - I know I twittered you that your album was awesome but now I can see big pictures (instead of my little phone screen) and it's amazing. I mean, it's you - your style, but then your journaling is amazing. I really wish I was at the same place you are - I mean, I question every day whether I'm doing the right thing and most times I feel the answer is no, sometimes it's yes - I hope I have the clarity and confidence in myself that you do! Love ya girl!
